The Thrill of the Hunt Helped This Designer

Callie Windle has designed five homes since launching her namesake firm in 2020, but it was her first home, in the Montecito neighborhood of Denton, that was her first passion project. As she was wandering through an estate sale at the 1970s French Eclectic home, it hit her: She was standing in her dream house. As much as she loved it though, she never imagined it would be hers. “But I took a real estate flyer anyway,” she says.

As it turns out, the house sat on the market for months and Windle eventually snapped it up. “It was a beautiful home that had so much potential — just a beautiful façade, on almost an acre and a half — but because it hadn’t been updated since it was built, almost every surface needed to be touched.”
